Cathie has been painting and drawing from a very early age.
She did Higher Art at school and has had good fortune to be taught by several excellent art teachers.
Since retiring, she joined Faifley Art Group and Milngavie Art Club.
She enjoys working in a variety of media including pastel, oil, watercolour, inks and pencil, producing portraits, landscapes and still lifes.
She has exhibited in many art shows including the West Dunbartonshire Open Art Show and the council holds three of Cathie`s works in the museum collection.
She has exhibited also at the Glasgow Botanical Gardens and Paisley Art Gallery and has sold works in all these exhibitions.
In November 2007 she won first prize at the Kirkintilloch Annual Exhibition for Best Amateur Painting.
She has also sold work in London and Stirling at amateur artist exhibitions.
