"Ships are the nearest things to dreams that hands have ever made" Robert N.Rose
The Queen Mary, the Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Elizabeth 2 were launched in 1934, 1938 and 1967 respectively: events which attracted enormous crowds to Clydebank.
This exhibition marks these events by displaying from the West Dunbartonshire Council Collection memorablia linked to these launches and souvinirs from the ships.
John Brown's shipyard, where all three Queens were built, is the main focus of this display and includes the contribution made by the workers to the construction of the liners.
On show are photographs relating to these themes, with artefacts from the shipyard along with a model of the Queen Mary.
Panels tell the career history of the passenger cruisers including fasciniating statistics, and a selection of films relating to the Three Queens will be on show throughout the duration of the exhibition.
