Audio Visual

Videos and DVD

• A wide selection of feature films and educational videos and DVDs is available from Alexandria, Clydebank and Dumbarton libraries.
• Feature films are loaned for 2 nights and a small hire charge is made depending on the release date of the item.
• Educational films are free of charge and may be borrowed for up to one week.
• Children's videos and DVDs are available free of charge in the junior section of every library.  

Audio - Music

• The library service offers a wide and comprehensive choice of music to suit all tastes. All libraries lend CDs.
• Borrowers may request any audio item which is not readily available. Staff will be happy to assist.
• Educational films are free of charge and may be borrowed for up to one week
• All audio items may be borrowed free of charge.  

Talking Books

• Adult talking books can be borrowed free of charge from most libraries. Borrowers using branches which do not have a talking-book collection can still make use of the service by placing requests.
• Most libraries have children's talking books which are also loaned free of charge.

CD-ROMS

• CD-Roms - mostly educational in content - are stocked in the main libraries.

Language Tapes

• A wide selection of language tapes is available through the Request Service. Each library holds a list of what is available and borrowers can request the item best suited to their ability.
• The loan period for all of these audio items is four weeks and borrowers may have up to 6 items out on loan at any one time.
• Full details of all charges can be obtained at any West Dunbartonshire library.
