West Dunbartonshire Libraries have large collections of materials relating to family history research. Due to the specialised nature of genealogical research, the resources are mainly concentrated in one main library - in this case, Dumbarton Library; but Clydebank Library also has a basic collection. We have now put some detailed information here about how to trace your family tree, with emphasis on Scottish sources. We point out those aspects that can be successfully tackled using the materials available in Dumbarton Library, and what you can achieve on the Internet in any of our libraries. The guide is not yet complete, but some major features are.
