West Dunbartonshire Local Plan

The West Dunbartonshire Local Plan will provide the local planning framework for the Council area, excluding that part which is located within the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. The Plan outlines where and what type of new development is suitable throughout the Plan area and which resources are to be protected.  It will guide development and investment decisions until 2012.  When adopted it will replace the Dumbarton District, District Wide Local Plan and Clydebank Local Plan, providing a single plan for the area for the first time. 

 

A Reporter from the Scottish Government Directorate for Planning and Environmental Appeals has been appointed to hold a public inquiry into objections made to the Finalised Draft West Dunbartonshire Local Plan.

 

The local plan inquiry will commence on Tuesday 18th November 2008.

The West Dunbartonshire Local Plan Finalised Draft Plan was placed on deposit in September 2007 for a 10-week consultation period and approximately 2500 representations were received.  The Council have considered these representations and, where appropriate, proposed modifications to the Plan.  A six-week consultation period on Proposed Pre-Inquiry Modifications ended on Friday 4th July 2008. Outstanding objections not addressed by the modifications, or new objections arising from the proposed modifications, will be considered at the Public Local Inquiry

 

Copies of the Local Plan are available for inspection in all Council libraries and the Council Offices at Rosebery Place, Clydebank and Garshake Road, Dumbarton.
