Financial Support

BUSINESS TRAINING SUPPORT

A programme which pays up to 50% of the training fees and is part-funded by Europe. The aim of the grant is to provide new skills for the employees of eligible businesses and to improve the employability of the workforce and also increase the competitiveness of the businesses.

 

BUSINESS START UP GRANT


A grant of up to £300 is available to applicants who wish to start up their own business.
Submission of a business plan will be a requirement of the application process. Free assistance with the Business Plan preparation may be available through the Business Gateway.

BUSINESS CAPITAL GRANT


The Business Capital Grant is available to enable established businesses to purchase essential equipment or machinery - this can include adaptations, alterations or upgrdaing to existing equipment.

The grant will provide 30% of the cost, with a maximum grant of £3,000. In conjunction with this grant a loan facility may also be available through the West of Scotland Loan Fund.

BUSINESS PROPERTY IMPROVEMENT GRANT


The Business Property Improvement Grant is available to assist established businesses with the costs of property improvements which are necessary to expand their business and create additional employment.

The grant will provide 30% of the cost, with a maximum grant of £3,000. In conjunction with this grant a loan facility may also be available through the West of Scotland Loan Fund.

NEW EMPLOYMENT APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING (N.E.A.T.)

The aim of NEAT is to increase the number of vocational traineeships for young people within West Dunbartonshire. It will offer a financial grant to companies who will give young people, both on and off the job training which will enable that person to achieve an apprenticeship.


WEST OF SCOTLAND LOAN FUND (W.S.L.F.)

 

The scheme aims to help small and medium sized businesses to set up and grow and can be used to help buy plant and equipment and expand the business.

 

DEVELOPING STRATHCLYDE LIMITED


Developing Strathclyde Limited has been set up to provide loan finance to small businesses and social enterprises and covers all of West Dunbartonshire. Applicants will need to demonstrate that the lending will help to significantly improve the economic situation in a socially disadvantaged area. The assistance will be funding of last resort and will therefore have to be part of a package of funding.
