Dumbarton Town Centre Forum was established in April 2010 following a well attended public meeting organised by the Save Dumbarton High Street Facebook Campaign group. The Forum includes members of the Facebook Group, local community councils, Business for Dumbarton, Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce, local Councillors and MSP, Strathclyde Police and representatives of West Dunbartonshire Council.
In June 2010 a Town Centre Improvement Plan was pulled together to assist with targeting issues in the town centre. The Plan assisted in Scottish Government Town Centre Regeneration Funding being secured for the town centre. It is reviewed on a regular basis to monitor progress.
From 30th October til 5th November 2010 a Pride in Our Town Week was organised by members of the Forum, local businesses and volunteers with a variety of events taking place and a temporary drop-in centre in a vacant shop. The event was well received by the local community.
