Dumbarton Town Centre Regeneration Fund Projects

West Dunbartonshire Council has been awarded £450,000 of Town Centre Regeneration Funding from the Scottish Government. Projects ideas were taken from consultation events with the local community and through feedback from the local Chamber of Commerce and Business for Dumbarton. So far the following projects have been delivered with assistance from Council funding;

• CCTV cameras

• 18 new heritage plaques for the town’s listed buildings

• 21 new amenity lights and four information boards on the Quayside walkway

• New pedestrian finger post signs throughout the town centre to guide visitors to facilities

• 50 new parking spaces at Church Court (partly funded by Strathclyde Passenger Transport)

In addition the following projects are currently being progressed;

• Vacant units and shopfront refurbishment

• Shop local initiative

• Access improvements at Strathleven Underpass

• Improvements to Glencairn House

• A banner for the Old Academy Building

• Improvements to the appearance of Riverside Lane

• General Streetscape Improvements
