One of the main Council structures for involving the community in Council decision-making is the Community Participation Committee.
It has places for up to 17 community representatives from a range of community groups. It's role is to raise community issues with the Council, influence decision-making and help shape Council policies and services affecting our communities. It also provides information to the community form the Council and from the community to the Council.
The Council is aiming for a pro-active agenda that encourages dialogue on issues of importance to our local communities. It has an Open Forum for members of the public to ask questions and raise issues.
