Services for Adults are provided to a range of people including:
• Older people (including those affected by dementia);
• People with physical disabilities or a sensory impairment;
• People with learning difficulties;
• People with mental ill health;
• People experiencing problems with their drugs or alcohol use;
• People who care for a family member;
• People with a brain injury; and
• People with palliative care needs
These services can be provided jointly by the Council and the NHS or can be
commissioned from the private or voluntary sector.
Around 60 staff work to deliver fieldwork services to adults with community
care needs and to people with disabilities. Over 1,000 assessments of need
are completed each year and at any one point in time 1,900 vulnerable clients
are receiving a service and support including a care management service.
