The West Dunbartonshire Campaign

West Dunbartonshire Council launched its public awareness campaign for the European Parliamentary election on 27th April 2009

The Council aims:

  • To encourage voter registration up to the registration deadline of 19th May

  • To provide voters with information on the elections and how to take part, including how to complete their ballot paper and how to vote by post

A local media campaign – newspaper and radio advertising, to promote registration in West Dunbartonshire will run throughout May until polling day (4 June). Other activities will include PR with the local media, a school bag drop, a leaflet campaign and employee engagement.

The Electoral Commission will also run a national campaign and will target under-registered groups including recent home-movers, people living in private rented accommodation, young people, students and certain black and minority ethnic communities. The National advertising campaign builds on previous campaigns run by the Commission and is based on the core theme of 'If you want to vote, make sure nothing stops you'.
