In the first report published in 2010, Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) have praised the new headteacher and the hard working staff of Bonhill Primary School.
The Report stated - Bonhill Primary has a positive learning environment where the children are not only very proud of their school but are well-motivated and enthusiastic learners.
Terry Lanagan, Executive Director for Education says, “I am pleased that the staff are praised for their hard work in improving learning and teaching and the report recognises the respect that staff, parents and pupils have for the new headteacher”.
The energy and drive of the leadership that includes the acting depute headteacher so impressed the inspectors that they will not be revisiting the school for a follow-up inspection.
The council will provide a further report on the areas for improvement for parents in two years’ time.
Headteacher Maria Seery said “I am pleased that the inspectors have recognised the hard work and commitment of staff, pupils, parents and partners of Bonhill primary. As a school we are committed to continuing to take the staff forward and develop the best possible opportunities for our young people to achieve. I am very proud of the pupils and staff in this school and I appreciate the strong support shown by parents and the whole community.”
Education Convenor May Smillie says, “We are all really very proud of the great job that Maria is doing at Bonhill Primary and we fully expect the whole team there to keep up the good work.”
