West Dunbartonshire Councillors and Members of the Education Committee were delighted with an update on the progress of Linnvale Primary School in Clydebank.
Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) returned to Linnvale Primary School to follow up on the inspection report that was published on 12 February 2008.
Executive Director for Education, Terry Lanagan said, “I am very impressed with The latest report which recognises improvements in all areas of the school and has made special mention of four in particular; the positive and supportive relationships between children and staff, the positive start made to actively engaging children more effectively in their learning, teamwork of staff to improve the school and the leadership of the headteacher. Doreen Philips has done a fantastic job in taking the school forward.”
There will be no further reports on the school as part of the inspection process started in 2008.
Headteacher Doreen Philips said “The whole school community has worked extremely hard and I am delighted that the report recognises the commitment of staff and the improvements to date. The school will continue on that journey of improvement to ensure that our pupils get the best opportunities to learn.”
Education Convenor, May Smillie also added her congratulations to Doreen Philips and praised her dedication, commitment and strength of leadership.
