Community Planning Partners sign partnership agreement

Friday 6th August 2010

A Partnership Agreement between all of West Dunbartonshire’s Public Sector and voluntary agencies and the community has been approved.

West Dunbartonshire Community Planning Partnership (CPP) is a partnership of agencies, organisations and groups from the public, third sector and community sector that all have an interest in West Dunbartonshire and who can make a positive contribution to its growth and development.

The aim of the CPP is to work in partnership to improve the economic, social, cultural and environmental well being of West Dunbartonshire for all who live, work, visit and do business here.

Representatives from each of partner agencies got together for a formal signing of the Partnership Agreement last month. Representatives from the three Community Forums were involved in every stage of the development of the Agreement and were also invited to sign the Partnership Agreement.

The CPP works closely with three Community Forums and any resident of West Dunbartonshire should be able to join their relevant forum at any time. The CPP structure ensures local people are able to influence the CPP’s decision making and this is vital to success of the Community Planning.

The newly-signed Partnership Agreement highlights the commitment of all Community Planning Partners to improving the planning and delivery of public services across West Dunbartonshire .

Cllr Ronnie McColl, Leader of the Council and Chair of West Dunbartonshire Community Planning Partnership said: “Formalising the Partnership Agreement is a key ingredient of a successful partnership. The Agreement is a tool which will help all public services work closer together, which is especially important in the current financial climate.”
