GROOVE IN THE GROVE - GROOVE IDOL

Check out the talent at Levengrove Park!

 

This year, Groove in the Grove organisers, West Dunbartonshire Council’s Events Team, West Dunbartonshire Festival Committee  and Your Radio, have decide to run a talent completion – Groove Idol -  at Levengrove Park on Saturday10 July. It s a free event running from 12 – 5pm

 

Dave Ross from your Radio explains “Have you ever gone along to a live music event or watched a talent competition on TV and thought to yourself, I could do better than that!

 

Well! If you are over 14 years old and have always fancied yourself as an entertainer, or play in a band, or just want to sing your favourite song to a live audience, here is your big chance!

Jim McKelvie from West Dunbartonshire’s Event team explains, “A 3 man judging panel will decide who the lucky winner is and present a £250 PRIZE to the best act”

 

The 3 man judging panel that performers will have to impress, will be John Hepburn, West Dunbartonshire Festival Chairman, Your Radio DJ, Dave Ross and music industry whizz, Scott Garvie, Manager of tribute acts Kittycat Dolls and The Sundays.

 

Tribute acts, the Kitty Kat Dolls and the Sundays will be performing and showing us all how it’s done with Your Radio running the show!

 

Full funfair, magic shows and face painting are all there to be the kids entertained along with a wide selection of hot food and beverage stalls. Charity stalls too!

 

Jim says, “I think that this has the potential to be a cracker of an event with a real variety of entertainment!”

 

John Hepburn, West Dunbartonshire Festival Chairman said: “The new addition of the X factor type auditions will help search for a West Dunbartonshire star, making this event truly for the people of West Dunbartonshire. But they have to get past the new Simon Cowell (me!). I hope that people will come along to Levengrove Saturday to support both the event and charity stalls.

 

He added: “This will be real family event with funfairs and children’s entertainment.”
