Inspectors commented on the pupils, saying they were ‘highly motivated children who are well behaved and enjoy their learning’, while staff strive to meet the needs of all learners.

Staff relationships and their care for the welfare of all children, in particular the promotion of the children’s health and wellbeing was also praised by the inspectors.

Terry Lanagan, Executive Director of Education said “We are delighted that the inspection visit was such a positive reflection of the excellent work carried out at the school. We are very pleased that they talk about ‘staff relationships and their care for the welfare of all children, in particular the promotion of the children’s health and wellbeing’.

He continued: “The headteacher, parents and carers and everyone connected to the school, can be proud in the part they have contributed in making Whitecrook Primary the successful school it is today.”

The quality of leadership across the school and the approaches to improving the school were also highlighted along with pupils being involved in making decisions to improve their school. Children’s knowledge and understanding of healthy eating and healthy lifestyles is said to be very strong. Staff take great care to ensure that children are well supported as they progress through the school and also the work with partners especially parents who feel they are consulted effectively was also highlighted.

We have all worked exceptionally hard and I would like to thank the parents, carers and friends within the whole community for their ongoing support and encouragement.”
