West Dunbartonshire residents are being encouraged to highlight Council employees who have gone the extra mile to help them.

Residents can nominate any member of staff they feel has delivered excellent service to the local community for an Employee Recognition Award.

The annual event recognises the hardworking employees who regularly go above and beyond.

Every nominee will receive a personal letter from Chief Executive Joyce White, and those shortlisted will be invited along to a presentation in Clydebank Town Hall on 12 March.

Categories will include Team of the Year, Employee of the Year, Young Ambassador of the Year and the Communities Award.

Councillor Ian Dickson, Convener of Corporate Services, said: “Our employees do a great job in so many different areas, from home care visits to street cleaning, and often go above and beyond what is expected. The Employee Awards are about recognising those efforts and letting our employees know how valued they are. Many of these people are unsung heroes, who work tirelessly under the radar, making improvements for residents. This is a great way of saying thank you.”

Councillor Iain McLaren, Vice Convener of Corporate Services, added: “I’d urge anyone who has been grateful for, or impressed by, a member of our staff to please consider nominating that person so we can properly celebrate them. We know we have many dedicated employees who are a credit to the Council and we need your help to publically thank them for the great service they deliver on our behalf.”

To make a nomination, please visit www.wdcawards.co.uk and fill in the online form.

The deadline for nominations is Friday 15 February.
