Increasing LGBT Tolerance, awareness and service provision in West Dunbartonshire
In 2011, the Equality Network carried out some research into the thoughts, opinions and experiences of LGBT people living in West Dunbartonshire.
The research was carried out on behalf of West Dunbartonshire LGBT Equalities Network and will inform the action plan of the network for 2012-2013 and also link in with setting equality outcomes.
West Dunbartonshire Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Equalities Network
The LGBT Equalities Network was established in October 2007. The network includes Community Planning partners such as:

- West Dunbartonshire Community Planning Partnership Community Support Team
The network aims to raise awareness of LGBT issues, challenge negative attitudes and homophobia and to ensure that the LGBT community is consulted in relation to service delivery and design. The network has been involved in awareness raising including the annual LGBT History month celebration, flag raising, diversity events and training.
If you would like to know more about the network visit the LBGT Network West Dunbartonshire website.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History Month
LGBT History month gives an opportunity to celebrate the lives of people throughout history who might today identify themselves as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender. Events take place every February where groups, organisations and individuals have the opportunity to explore these histories that have either been ignored or hidden.
You can also visit the LGBT History Month's website for more information, including details of events, news and resources.
