Core Professional Purpose
It is the role of the Pupil Support Team (PST) to support the development of inclusive education. Inclusive education that provides quality and equitable education to meet the needs of learners from diverse backgrounds, of all abilities and contributes to fostering an inclusive society.
The Pupil Support Team builds capacity in universal services using integrated approaches and providing professional development across all sectors, agencies and with families.
Pupil Support Team Membership
The Pupil Support Team is responsible for delivery of all aspects of inclusive education. The Head of Service (Support) has overall leadership of the team with strategic and operational management resting with the Quality Improvement Manager.
The work of the Team stems from Additional Support for Learning Acts 2004 and 2009, Equality Act 2010, Getting It Right For Every Child, Child Protection Legislation and Curriculum for Excellence.

Quality Improvement Manager - Mary Berrill
It is the responsibility of the Quality Improvement Manager (QIM) to direct and support the operational management of Pupil Support Services for children requiring additional support or personal support and to promote Inclusion for schools and key partners.
Within the Pupil Support Team the QIM has responsibility for the following policy areas:

Management and deployment of Specialists Support Services

Specialist placements within the local authority area and elsewhere

Consultation and communication with parents, including parental concerns.

Quality Improvement Officer - Vicky McGraw
One Quality Improvement Officer has responsibility for supporting inclusion and equality across educational services and partner agencies with particular emphasis on building respectful and productive relationships.
Responsibilities include:
· Implementation of Equality and Additional Support for Learning legislation
· Development of Promoting Positive Relationship strategies
· Development of the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child
· Provision of CPD through the Integrated Pupil Support Network

One Quality Improvement Officer has responsibility for developing and coordinating alternative resources for pupils with additional support needs including children who are Looked After or who require More Choices, More Chances.

The remit of the Pupil Support Coordinators will include support to the Network Support Resource teachers to deliver their remit.

· Partnerships working and allocation of specialist resources
Child Protection Officer - Gerry Neal
The Child Protection Officer has an important role in making sure there is a shared vision for the protection of children and young people within education services and across partner agencies.
