Skills for Learning, Life and Work

West Dunbartonshire Council's Vocational Programme provides a range of taster, 1 year and 2 year work-related experiences. This includes Skills for Work which gives young people in their third year at Secondary School the opportunity to take a 2 year vocational course.

Courses are extremely practical and delivered in partnership with Clydebank College, Anniesland College, West Dunbartonshire Council's Leisure Services, Glasgow Caledonian University, schools, partner agencies such as Careers Scotland and various employers in the private and voluntary sectors. This allows young people the resources they need to gain a recognised qualification and increase future employment prospects.

Our aspiration is for all children and young people to be:

  • successful learners

  • confident individuals

  • responsible citizens

  • effective contributors.

The programme offers various vocational qualifications to young people in West Dunbartonshire. This gives young people the chance to learn in a college or workplace setting.
