Information will be given to NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde regarding pre-school children who are registered for the nursery and the vision screening will commence as soon as possible after the new school year commences.
If you require further information regarding this, please speak to the Head of Centre.
Child Safety / Child Protection
All Early Education and Childcare Centres should be happy, safe places that actively promote child welfare and also teach children how to protect themselves. They must make sure they have programmes for health and personal safety as part of the overall curriculum provision. Parents / carers will be kept informed of the health and personal safety programme for the centre.
All Early Education & Childcare Centres will make sure children are listened to and respected and are taught how to keep themselves safe.
All staff are required to be aware of child protection issues and are provided with up to date information and training on Child Protection Policy and Procedures. We maintain close working relationships with all other relevant agencies to ensure appropriate information is shared and that professionals from various agencies work together for the well-being of all children.
Staff members have a responsibility to report concerns regarding the welfare or safety of a child to the Head of Centre. If the Head of Centre, or the person deputising for them has serious concerns regarding a child, they will immediately share these with the Senior Social Worker on duty in the local Social Work Office.
Healthy Eating
Healthy eating and importance of healthy eating attitudes are promoted in each centre. Children are provided with a nutritional snack each day. This usually consists of a portion of fruit and a drink of milk or water. Sweets are only given to children on special occasions.
Please note that children are only entitled to free meals if their parents are in receipt of Income Support.
Free School Meals
