Saint Stephen's Aims

The school's aims are consistent with the education department's statment of commitment. In St Stephen's we endeavour to:

 

 

1.       To enable pupils to become:

 

          Successful learners;

          Confident individuals;

          Responsible Citizens; and

          Effective contributors

 

          by creating a learning environment which is supportive, challenging, engaging and motivating.

 

2.       To promote an inclusive ethos where all pupils, parents and staff are valued and treated equally and fairly.

 

3.       To work in partnership with the home and parish in order to uphold the moral teaching, faith and traditions of the

          Catholic Church whilst promoting respect for different beliefs and cultures.

 

4.       To encourage active citizenship by:

 

          Providing opportunities for our pupils to take on responsibilities and exercise choices;

          Enhancing links with the community;

          Providing opportunities for our pupils to be part of the decision making process.

 

5.       To promote partnership with all parents and to give them the opportunity to be involved in developing their

          children’s learning at home, in the community and at school.
