In a bid to increase quality physical activity opportunities available for infants at St. Patrick’s Primary School, Active Schools and 3 parent volunteers have collaborated to establish a weekly after-school activity club for infant pupils.
The club run by parent volunteers Jacqueline McGalpine , Pauline Butchart and Monica Odie, with support from the Active Schools Coordinator Yvonne Orrock, provides pupils with an hour of fun, exciting and innovative games designed to capture their imagination and increase their physical activity levels.
The club has been focussing on the infant pupils as it is hugely important to get children involved in fun, regular and safe physical activity from an early age.
The club has been a great success and it is hoped that more of these parent led clubs will be established in future.
