Mission Statement:
'To enhance the structure of athletics development within West Dunbartonshire that provides local people with widened opportunities to participate in the sport and develops their talents to the level that they aspire, with the only limiting factor being their interest and commitment'.
West Dunbartonshire Council Athletics Development programme aims to:

Provide a comprehensive sportshall athletics coaching programme accessible by all West Dunbartonshire schools.

Provide a range of fun sports festivals and Run, Jump and Throw participation centres.

Deliver Giant Heptathlon events.

Organise Sportshall Athletics challenge events.

Provide Startrack courses during school holidays.

Organise and assist in the delivery of coach education programmes to increase the number of qualified coaches and to improve the quality of athletics coaching in West Dunbartonshire.

Develop a sustainable pathway from Sportshall Athletics programme to local competitive Athletics Club's.

Assist the development of local athletics clubs.

Develop a cross-authority Local Athletics Partnership, to bring local clubs together to share resources and enhance the development of the sport.

Establish an athletics performance squad in specific events.

Work in partnership with Scottish Athletics.
