Do you think that you should do more exercise but don't ever seem to get around to it? Or maybe you’d like to lose weight but find it difficult to motivate yourself? Or maybe you’re just looking for a new hobby or a place to meet new people?
Well, you’ve come to the right place! jogscotland can help you achieve all or any of these things. Already jogscotland has had over 20, 000 people come through the programme since it started in 2002, via a network of over 360 strong, country-wide jogging groups.
Jogging is a great way to lose weight and get fit into the bargain.
If you feel that you are out of condition or if you are just starting an exercise plan, then jogging can increase your exercise gently and ease you into a new routine.
Burn Rate of calories when jogging:
Depending on your weight and exertion level you'll burn 100-200 extra calories* in a half-hour session.
*EXTRA CALORIES ARE THOSE YOU BURN ON TOP OF THE CALORIES YOU USE FOR BASIC DAY-TO-DAY LIVING. INPUTTING YOUR EXERCISE INTO YOUR EXERCISE DIARY WILL CALCULATE THE NUMBER OF CALORIES YOU WILL BURN, BASED ON YOUR WEIGHT.
Getting Started
If you have never run before you should check with your doctor first. It's best to take things slowly to begin with and you will find that it's an extremely social sport for all ages and you will gain plenty of advice and support.
Joining West Dunbartonshire jogscotland will also introduce you to new routes around your area, making your jogging more fun and enjoyable.
