Community Development Team

West Dunbartonshire Councils’ Community Learning & Development section partly consists of a Community Development Team (CDT), which is made up of three geographically based Community Development Workers who cover the whole of West Dunbartonshire

Community Development is the provision of learning opportunities in locally based venues which meet the identified learning needs of groups and communities. Excluded and disadvantaged individuals, groups and communities are the priority when developing these learning opportunities. Provision is free to priority groups & communities and courses are run at times which suit the participants. Learning provision can vary in length and duration depending on the content.

 

The CDT can offer:

 

  • Positive learning experiences

  • Flexible learning opportunities

  • Capacity Building within the community

  • Influence decision-making and services in the local community

  • Promote active citizenship
