Primary Showcase Concert 2008

 

The fourth annual concert took place in ClydebankTown Hall on Thursday 12th June. Pupils rehearsed in Dalreoch Primary School for eight weeks to prepare for the concert. The young people came from 27 of the councils 34 primary schools. They worked in two groups; a string ensemble and a wind ensemble.

 

The string emsemble was made up of pupils playing the Violin, Cello and Double Bass and had 30 pupils from P5 to P7.

The wind ensemble had 20 wind players on Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone and Bassoon; 26 brass players on Trumpet, Horn, Trombone and Euphonium and 2 percussion players on drums and cymbals.

 

The wind ensemble musicians also came from Primary 5,6 and 7 classes across the council area. The young people worked with various instructors from the council Music Service who conducted them in a variety of styles of music.
