Grounds Maintenance

Grounds Maintenance is part of Land Services within Housing, Environmental and Economic Development. Grounds Maintenance provides statutory and non-statutory services on behalf of West Dunbartonshire Council. Land Services places a high value on promoting the services it delivers to West Dunbartonshire residents and the wider community. This is important to us to attracting visitors to the area to the north and west of Glasgow and is known as the gateway to the highlands. Scotland's first National Park "Loch Lomond and the Trossachs" also borders on areas of West Dunbartonshire.

We maintain over 384 hectares of open spaces and over 112 hectares of public parks. A further 6.36 hectares of herbaceous borders, rose beds, shrub beds are also maintained, together with 56 grass, and 47 blaes pitches and a further 80 play areas. We also maintain an 18-hole golf course, 10 cemeteries and churchyards and 15 bowling greens. In addition, we provide a full range of street cleaning services including:

  • Clearing litter from roads, pavements, soft and hard landscapes areas
  • Mechanical sweeping of roads and pavements
  • Supply, maintenance and service dual litter and dog fouling bins
