The Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005 requires that some plans, programmes and strategies produced by public bodies are subject to a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) being carried out. The Open Space Strategy is subject to an SEA, the results of which are contained within the Draft Environmental Report . The purpose of the SEA is to identify, describe and evaluate the likely significant effects on the environment of the Open Space Strategy and to propose suggestions for alternative actions where deemed necessary.
