West Dunbartonshire Council has two forms of service delivery for households with regards recyclate and waste collection. The Council has developed an improved recycling collection service –Alternate Weekly Collection (AWC) which prioritises recycling over the landfilling of waste by collecting different types of waste on alternate weeks. This new service is delivered to approximately 30,000 low level households throughout the Council area.

Important note:
Approximately 15,000 households throughout the Council area, including tenemental, high flats, flatted dwellings and some areas with restricted vehicle access are not included in the new service for operational reasons and remain on a weekly collection service (WCS) for residual waste, with the addition of a fortnightly collection service of dry recyclate via blue boxes/bags by Greenlight Environmental Limited. These households can also recycle glass via white bags with Greenlight Environmental Limited. West Dunbartonshire Council is working with partners to improve this service and these services as described, may be subject to change.
