If you are a council tenant we already know how much rent you pay, so we do not need proof of your rent agreement. Housing Benefit does not cover things like the home insurance scheme operated by the council or lock-up costs.
If you rent from a Housing Association, we will need to see proof of your tenancy agreement to confirm your rent and date of entry.
