Payment by Direct Debit
Why spend time in queues, on the phone or
on your computer every month to pay your Council Tax bills, when
we could take care of it for the entire year in just five

Simply complete our online Direct Debit form or call our staff on
01389 737444 who will assist with setting up your Council Tax
Direct Debit.
Direct Debit is an effective and easy way
to pay your bills and as it is all done automatically by your
bank, you can spend the time doing other things.
How You Benefit:
- There is no need to write out and post a cheque each time a
payment is due
- You don't have to spend time in queues at the bank or Council
payment offices
- It is the only payment method with a money back guarantee
- You retain control - with advance notice of any changes to your
instalment amount during the financial year
- Direct Debit also has the advantage of letting you choose from
3 monthly payment dates. (1st or 15th or 28th).
Pay Online
You can pay
Council Tax online quickly and simply using the Council's
website.
Please ensure that you have your account reference
number (available on your council tax letter), a
valid debit or credit card and if you have an
email account your email address to allow us to
send your receipt.
12 monthly opt in scheme
You can opt to pay your Council Tax over 12 months rather than
10 months.

Payment by Telephone
You can telephone our Payment Hotline on 0845 3039487 to
pay by debit or credit card.
Payment by Post
You can send a cheque payable to West Dunbartonshire
Council to:

G82 3PU
We advise you write your Council Tax reference number on the
reverse of your payment.
Payments in Person
You can visit the above office to make your Council Tax payment
by cheque, postal order, cash, or credit/debit card. You can also
make payments at the Housing Rent Collection Office in
Clydebank or the One Stop Shop in Alexandria.
