West Dunbartonshire Council has a number of fully furnished flats for use as temporary accommodation.
If you have been assessed as unintentionally homeless and in priority need, the Council has a duty to provide you with permanent accommodation. This is usually a Scottish Secure Tenancy with the Council or a housing association or, much less commonly, an Assured Tenancy with a private landlord.
Most council or housing association tenancies come unfurnished. However, West Dunbartonshire have a Furniture Recycling Project (Home from Home) which may assist accessing furniture this service can be accessed through contacting the Homeless Services section to access
The Social Fund
The Department for Work and Pensions Social Fund offers a number of ways which may help you to pay for furniture, including Community Care Grants, Budgeting Loans and Crisis Loans.
