This self contained complex at Second Avenue offers 1 bedroom apartments to clients.  The complex has in total 21 apartments all on a level access.  The complex has a secure main access door to the front situated bedside the office.  The complex operates lunch/tea clubs when possible in the large common room located within the complex and is a very sociable environment.  All apartments have double bedrooms and access to private outdoor space.  The complex also offers laundry facilities and a communal outdoor gardening space with raised flower beds for ease of access.

This self contained complex offers 24 flats in total, one being a 2 bed and 1 a studio with the rest being 1 bedroom.  The complex has a ramp access to the main door, the complex is spread out over different levels so is made up of both stair and ramp access.  Some of the ramps within the complex are quite steep and may be difficult for those without a motorised wheelchair.  The complex offers lunch clubs when possible in the large common room situated within the complex.  There are communal gardens which have steps down to them.  The complex also offers laundry facilities and communal shower room which is large enough to accommodate clients with limited mobility and their carers.

This complex has 14 flats in total made up of 4 in a block flats and bungalow accommodation.  The complex has a shared common room where lunch and tea clubs can be held.  Access to the common room is via outdoor footpaths.  Upper 4 in a block properties would not be suitable to those with mobility problems.  The complex has four 2 bedroom properties, the rest being 1 bedroom, a shared laundry facility and outdoor space with drying areas.

This sheltered housing complex is a row of semi-detached cottages, 20 in total.  The properties are all one bedroom, each has their own private gardens however access to these are via step steps.  There is a large common room available which resident’s access via outdoor footpaths, there is a slight slope up to the common room and step access to the back door.  Lunch clubs run when possible and there is a communal laundry facility located beside the common room.

This sheltered complex comprises of 25 flats in 4 blocks with level outdoor access running between them.  The complex has communal gardens with drying areas but no on site laundry facilities, as kitchens within individual flats are large enough to accommodate a washing machine.  There is a shared common room with access via the outdoor paths, the complex runs lunch clubs when possible and also runs a gardening club.  The access doors to each block open automatically and the upper flats would only be suitable to those with good mobility for the stairs.  The complex is a good location for train and bus routes.

This complex is made up of 34 one bedroom flats.  The flats all have their own front door level access and are all spread out around the large communal grass area.  Flats have a good sized double bedroom, storage throughout, bathrooms with level access showers and small kitchens with space for your own washing machine.  Parking is available in the small car park beside complex but it also is possible in some cases if you have a car to keep it outside your flat.

The communal grounds also have a paved area where seating can go for residents to meet together in good weather, there is also an indoor common room which is accessed by walking through the outdoor communal area.  This complex offers independent living but with support available.

Westbridgend Sheltered Housing Complex

This Sheltered Complex consists of 80 flats spread out between the 3 blocks at Westbridgend:

  • Leven Court – named so as it’s closest to the river Leven
  • Lomond Court – named as it’s closest to Ben Lomond
  • Clyde Court – named as it’s closest to Glasgow

The sheltered houses are spread throughout the 3 blocks mixing in with main stream housing.  There are no communal facilities available at the minute but a refurbishment is due to start soon which will provide a common room for the sheltered housing tenants  The blocks also have a small ground floor storage space for scooters.  There are large communal laundry facilities on the ground floor but tenants can have a washing machine in their own kitchens, should they choose to. Entry doors at ground level are quite heavy to pull and may cause manoeuvring problems for wheelchair users.  Lift access is available in each block to the odd and even flats.

This sheltered complex has secure main front door access with all access to flats running off the corridors.  The properties are one bedroom or smaller studio apartments with a shared balcony. 

The complex has good transport links and is close to town centre amenities. There is a large common room and separate quieter music room for residents to use, and the complex has games nights and offers a breakfast club when possible.  There are also communal gardens with seating areas outside, communal laundry facilities, and each floor has a communal bath that residents can use, as flats are only equipped with showers for ease of access.

This sheltered complex is a self-contained unit comprising of 11 one bedroom flats.  The flats are spread out over 2 levels with 13 stairs to the upper floor, no lifts are in the complex and due to width of the stairs it is not possible for chair lifts to be added.  There is a communal sitting room with a further break out area for residents in the walkway between the 2 blocks, daily activities/lunch clubs are available.  There are also lovely communal gardens suitable for wheelchair users to the rear where seating is provided and residents can make use of in nice weather, there are 2 communal drying areas outside also.  Each flat has a living room with double bedroom off this, a generous sized kitchen, level access bathrooms and a large walk in cupboard in the hall with lots of storage space.  Only one flat in the complex has a bath in the bathroom, the rest have shower facilities.

There are 2 communal drying areas & also daily activities/lunch for residents.  There is a slight slope up to the front door of the complex and a car park for residents and visitors.
