If I am selected what happens next?

• Panel members have to be trained for the job.
• When you are appointed you will be expected to attend a pre-service training course.
• This training course lasts about twelve weeks during which you will attend up to 5 weekly evening sessions in your local hearing rooms and seven training days held in a central location. Dates for pre-service training 2008_(35K)
  
• When you have completed this course satisfactorily you will begin to serve on Hearings.
• Later in the year you will have to attend a further course which consists of 3-4 evening meetings and, normally, a residential weekend.
• As a Panel member you are expected to have an on-going commitment to training throughout your period of service.
