WEST DUNBARTONSHIRE CHILDREN`S PANEL
What exactly does a Panel Member do at a Hearing?
- Three panel members of both sexes sit in on each Hearing.
- Several days before the Hearing you will receive reports on the children you will see.
- You will have to study these reports carefully
- At the Hearing the panel members use the reports to discuss the case with the child, his parents and the social worker.
- The Panel will then make a decision as to what should happen to the child.
- At each Hearing you may see three to four families.
- Each Hearing usually lasts for about one hour; difficult cases can take much longer.
