Publication Scheme
The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA) requires that all Scottish Public Authorities maintain a Publication Scheme.
A Publication Scheme sets out the types of information that a public authority routinely makes available. West Dunbartonshire Council's Publication Scheme has been approved by the Scottish Information Commissioner, who is responsible for enforcing the FOISA. We are required to review our scheme from time to time.
The Publication Scheme specifies:-
-
the classes of information that the Council publishes, or intends to publish;
-
the format(s) in which that information is published; and
-
how members of the public may access that information.
West Dunbartonshire Council has sought to produce an informative and user-friendly document which not only meets the requirements under the Act, but also clearly demonstrates the Council's commitment to the principles of openness and transparency.
