Baby Naming Ceremonies

If you do not wish to have a religious ceremony, a baby naming ceremony could be the ideal way to celebrate your child’s birth and to welcome them into your family and the wider community.

Although the ceremony has no legal status you will be free to involve close relatives or friends and choose readings which have a personal meaning for you or that you simply like.

The ceremonies can be held in one of our Ceremony Rooms in Alexandria, Clydebank or Dumbarton or at one of our approved venues.

You will be asked to produce your child’s birth certificate when booking the ceremony as the name given must be the same as that on the birth certificate.

The cost of ceremony, including the commemorative certificate, is £46.50 plus the accommodation fee (if on local authority premises).  Please note there will be an additional fee for the provision of a registrar to attend an approved venue.
