Cosmopolitan Health & Fitness Clubs

Cosmopolitan Health and Fitness Clubs are based in each of West Dunbartonshire's leisure facilities. The Meadow Centre (Dumbarton), the Play Drome (Clydebank), and the Vale of Leven Swimming Pool (Alexandria), all contain fitness clubs. Each Cosmopolitan Health and Fitness Club contains a fitness suite ideal for exercising and weight loss, plus a health suite where life's stresses and strains can be eased away. We pride ourselves on our wide user base, attracting users and members across a range of ages, fitness levels, shapes and sizes.

Neighbourhood Fitness Centre

Cosmopolitan Neighbourhood Fitness Centre is funded by the Fairer Scotland Fund and operated by West Dunbartonshire Council’s Leisure Services Section.

The fund enables local authorities and their community planning partners to improve access to new and enhanced services, particularly for young people and residents from most disadvantaged neighbourhoods.

Fitness Suites

All our fitness suites are staffed by fully qualified fitness instructors. All new members and users are shown how to use the exercise machines safely and provided with a personally tailored training programme. The instructors also make sure that you feel at home in the friendly social atmosphere of our facilities.

Each of our gyms feature state of the art exercise equipment designed to help you get fitter, tone up and build strength.

Health Suites

Each of our Health Suites comes fully equipped with a steam room and sauna. The suites are an excellent place to relax and escape from the stresses and strains of everyday life.

Swimming Pools

Each centre has a 25 metre pool area suitable for fitness swimming and learning to swim, with both the Meadow Centre, Play Drome and providing additional leisure pool facilities.

Free use of the swimming pools is included in most of the membership packages on offer.

Membership Details

Using the Cosmopolitan Health and Fitness Clubs' facilities is easy. Either become a member or use the facilities on a pay as you go basis. If you plan to take up a programme of regular exercise, then our excellent value member packages are competitively priced. There is a wide range of memberships available, including single, couple, family and corporate memberships.

There are also a variety of payment methods available, such as direct debit and one off annual paid in full memberships. You can also purchase a selection of memberships online. Click the Online Bookings and Payments page to find out more.  Whatever membership option you choose there is no joining fee or minimum contract terms for direct debit paying customers.

Free Fitness Assessment

At the Cosmopolitan Health and Fitness Club we want to help you achieve your exercise goals. Our free fitness assessment programme is just one of the ways we can help you. A fitness assessment, taken on a one to one basis with a qualified member of staff, will inform you of your level of fitness in comparison to people of a similar age and assist staff in recommending a suitable exercise programme. By having regular fitness assessments you can also measure the impact your exercise programme is having on your level of fitness.

Getting Started

The hardest part of any exercise programme is taking the first step. Remember, at the Cosmopolitan Health and Fitness Club, we are not about body beautiful. We simply want to help everyone become healthier, happier and more active.

To get started, simply telephone or visit your local Club. We will arrange a tour of the facilities, book an induction session and provide you with all the information you need on membership options and using the facilities.

Meadow Centre - Opening Times

Juvenile sessions Monday to Friday 3.30pm to 5.00pm, Saturday & Sunday 2.00pm to 3.30pm.

Play Drome - Opening Times

Juvenile sessions Monday to Friday 4.00pm to 5.00pm, Saturday & Sunday 2.00pm to 3.00pm.

Vale of Leven - Opening Times

Juvenile sessions Monday to Friday 4.00pm to 5.30pm, Saturday & Sunday 2.00pm to 3.00pm

Off-Peak prices apply before 4.00 pm Monday - Thursday and all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Please note that public holiday hours are 10.30am to 5.30pm.
