Loch Lomond Highland Games

The Loch Lomond Highland Games is one of the areas most popular events held during the summer period. There’s the traditional, iconic events such as highland dancing, pipe band contests, solo piping contests, wrestling, throwing the weight, sprint races and middle distance running events as well as more contemporary events such as the triathlon and cycling, all rounded off with the ever popular tug o’ war.
Apart from the activities within the arena, the event is surrounded by a host of attractions, stalls, traders, fun fare and entertainment, not to mention a wide range of catering choices that help round off the highland games experience.
The event takes place at Moss O’Balloch, just off Balloch Road in the centre of the village. Only eighteen miles from the centre of Glasgow, Balloch has excellent road, rail and bus links. The event site is within a half hour drive of west and central Scotland with easy approaches via the M8 motorway and the A82 trunk road. The event is well sign-posted from the north side of the Erskine Bridge and has excellent bus links. Balloch train station is only a short walk from the event site entrance.
