Swimming

The swimming pool has a large range of leisure facilities including an excellent wave machine, a beach area which provides easy access to the pool and a water slide. The pool also has a 25 metre swimming area for fitness swimming and a spectator area.

 

There is a range of activities available including "Wild Waves" every Friday evening, Aqua Discos, swimming lessons and adult only sessions. 

Meadow Centre Pool

 

Resident Senior Citizen Passport to Leisure members, concessionary members and under 5's can swim for free during public swimming sessions. Admission of children under 8 years of age will be in accordance with the Council's Child Swimming Admissions Policy.

Swimming Lessons

 

With easy access to the River Clyde, River Leven, Clyde and Forth Canal and Loch Lomond in West Dunbartonshire it has never been more important to raise the awareness and knowledge that swimming brings. We aim to offer the highest quality of instruction at a highly competitive rate. West Dunbartonshire Council in partnership with Scottish Swimming offer a comprehensive swimming programme for all ages and abilities. The aims and objectives of Swimming Development are as follows:

 

  • Provide children and adults with the opportunity to develop swimming technique through an extensive Learn to Swim Programme

  • Deliver primary school swimming lessons for P5 to P7 with the target of all pupils being able to swim 25metres before leaving primary school

  • Provide swimming Lessons for people with additional support needs (ASN) in partnership with the Social Work Department

  • Deliver comprehensive swimming teacher education & development programme in partnership with Scottish Swimming

  • Provide a clear pathway through the swimming continuum from complete beginner to national standards of performance

  • Assist the development of local swimming clubs

Exercise Classes

Our air-conditioned dance studio hosts an extensive exercise class programme. It is also available for club and private hire and is an ideal venue for any small private function.

Family Night

If you’re looking for an activity the whole family can enjoy together then look no further than our family night every Saturday between 4.30pm and 7.30pm.

There are lots of activities for the whole family including badminton, table tennis, trampolines, mini football and the bouncy castle/soft play and all leisure equipment hire is free on family night.  Once you’ve had enough of the dryside games take a dip in the pool and then relax with a sauna or in the steam room.  The fitness suite is also available for adult and young adults over 14 years (when accompanied with an adult) It’s unbeatable value for a family night out.

 

Sports Clubs & Classes

Choose from a range of sporting activities hosted in our 8 badminton court size sports hall. As well as organised activities run by the centre's own fully qualified instructors, you can join in with an organised club or book the activity yourself.

 

Organised clubs and classes include; netball, football, trampolining, badminton, gymnastics, over 50's classes and martial arts such as, Karate, Tae Kwon Do and Tai Boxing. Activities you can book yourself include; badminton, tennis, football, basketball, short tennis and table tennis.

 

Leisure equipment can be hired for many of the activities on offer.

 

Special Events

The Meadow Centre has hosted a variety of special events, from sports tournaments to work days out. There are private hire rates for the sports hall and swimming pool. If you are looking for a venue and feel we can accommodate you, please contact us.

 

Special Needs


Swimming

The Leisure Pool has a beach area, providing pool access for wheelchair users and those who may have difficulty entering or exiting a swimming pool.

National Autistic Society

The National Autistic Society use the sports hall every Sunday between 11.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. for a range of activities, including; trampolining, bouncy castles and soft play.

 Shining Stars

 

 

 

Sports United

Shining Stars is our award winning programme of activities for children aged 4 to 13 years with or affected by disabilities which has supervised sessions throughout the school holiday periods and at other times.
Sports United is Leisure Services scheme to get adults and young adults with or affected by disabilities aged 14 years plus more active.  Sports United offers discounted access to the fitness suites and free swimming. Carers go free with Sports United and Shining Stars members.

It is possible for children with special needs to join in a number of the organised activities, classes or clubs. Please contact The Meadow Centre on telephone number 01389 734094 to discuss the suitability of activities.

 

A hearing loop induction system is available at reception.

 

Disabled changing and shower facilities as well as a changing hoist and hydraulic bed are available.

 

Birthday Parties

Make that birthday party one to remember, choose the Meadow Centre as your party venue.

Choose from a selection of party options. Enjoy a range of activities in the sports hall or splash about in the pool. Whatever party you choose, everyone is guaranteed fun and enjoyment.

 

   

 

 

 

Bounce and Splash

Enjoy the bouncy castle then have a refreshing swim in the pool.

 

Birthday Bounce

Jump on the bouncy castle and soft play or use the sports hall to play your own games - trampoline available at a small extra charge.

 

 

 

 


 

 

There is no Catering provision within the centre for birthday parties, however catering can be brought into the centre by the bookee. To request full details of all the parties available, please contact us

Beauty Therapy

The Beauty Therapy salon run by therapist Morag Beck (HND, BABTAC) offers a wide range of treatments from facials and massages to reflexology and waxing.
