Swimming
The Vale of Leven Swimming Pool consists of a traditional 25 metre, 5 lane swimming pool and a teaching pool suitable for non swimmers, children's swimming lessons and parents with toddlers.
As well as catering for those swimmers who wish to swim lengths, we also offer a range of activities to suit most age groups. Adults can join a variety of classes and activities covering many sports and hobbies including, Aqua Aerobics, Aqua Natal classes, life saving, adult swimming lessons, masters swimming and sub aqua club. There is also a full range of juvenile swimming lessons to suit all abilities from 4 years of age.
- Resident Senior Citizen Passport to Leisure members, concessionary members and children under 5 years of age can swim for free during public swimming sessions.
- Admission of children under 8 years of age will be in accordance with the Council's Child Swimming Admissions Policy.

Swimming Lessons
With easy access to the River Clyde, River Leven, Clyde and Forth Canal and Loch Lomond in West Dunbartonshire it has never been more important to raise the awareness and knowledge that swimming brings. We aim to offer the highest quality of instruction at a highly competitive rate. West Dunbartonshire Council in partnership with Scottish Swimming offer a comprehensive swimming programme for all ages and abilities. The aims and objectives of Swimming Development are as follows:

Provide children and adults with the opportunity to develop swimming technique through an extensive Learn to Swim Programme

Deliver primary school swimming lessons for P5 to P7 with the target of all pupils being able to swim 25metres before leaving primary school

Provide swimming Lessons for people with additional support needs (ASN) in partnership with the Social Work Department

Deliver comprehensive swimming teacher education & development programme in partnership with Scottish Swimming

Provide a clear pathway through the swimming continuum from complete beginner to national standards of performance

Assist the development of local swimming clubs

Exercise Classes
Our dance studio hosts an extensive programme of exercise classes. The studio is also available for club and private hire and is an ideal venue for any small private function.

Wean's World
Wean's World is a unique play area, specifically designed for children aged 8 years or under. This great facility is based on a sea side theme, featuring a large ball pool, climbing frame, rope bridge, crawl tube and much more. It is an ideal venue for nurseries, playgroups, childminders or for normal everyday use.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Special Events
The Vale of Leven Swimming Pool has hosted a variety of special events from swimming galas to dancing competitions. There are private hire rates for the dance studio and the swimming pool. If you are planning a special event and you think this facility would be suitable, please contact Reception on (01389) 756931.

The facility has a pool hoist to assist customers who may experience difficulties entering or exiting the water.

The Phin Group
|
|
This Group is aimed at people with special needs and their carers. The Group meets every Monday evening, from 6.00 p.m. to 6.45 p.m.

The Enable Club
|
|
This Club is suitable for people with a physical disability and their carers. The Club meets every Monday evening, from 7.00 p.m. to 7.45 p.m.

A hearing loop induction system is available at reception.
The centre also has a dedicated changing area with hydraulic hoist and bed for changing
Birthday Parties
Have your birthday at Wean's World.
All parties consist of 1 hour in this specially designed soft play area followed by 45 minutes in the dance studio where you can eat your party food and play organised games to lively Disney music.
Sports Clubs and Classes
There are a variety of clubs using the facilities at the Vale of Leven Swimming Pool for their meetings and training sessions. The pools are used by the West Dunbartonshire Amateur Swimming Club, Lomond Sub Aqua Club, Phin Club, Masters Swimming Club and the Enable Club (a club for those with special needs and learning difficulties).
The dance studio is also used by a Tae Kwon Do Club
