Does it include swimming?
Not at present.
Swimming lessons are available for children with disabilities through the Council's sports development section. The Swimming Development Officer can be contacted on 0141 951 4321.
Where are the sports activities held?
All the dryside activities are held either at the Play Drome, 2 Abbotsford Road, Clydebank G81 1PA 0141 951 4321 or the Meadow Centre, Meadow Road, Dumbarton, G82 2AA 01389 734094.
How often are they held?
A full programme of activities for the current year can be obtained from any leisure centre or on the web site. Sessions are programmed throughout school holiday times at Easter, summer and October as well as other times of the year.
How much does it cost?
The two hourly school holiday sessions cost £2.00 per session for non members, members go free.
What age does my child have to be?
The scheme is intended for children aged 4 to 13 years although exceptions can be made for older children.
Can a brother or sister come along?
Yes, siblings are welcome provided there are spaces available. Priority will always be given to disabled children.
Do I leave my child at the session?
No.
Parents / carers must remain in the leisure centre. Sports coaches are involved in delivering sports activities only. Care issues including toileting are the responsibility of parents and carers. If a carer is required please ensure that a carer is in attendance at the session.
Do I have to be a resident of West Dunbartonshire to attend the sessions?
No.
Everyone is welcome no matter where they stay.
How do I book?
Go along to either the Meadow Centre or Play Drome and book at reception.
What can I do to help make this scheme successful?
Come to as many sessions as possible and tell other parents to come along.
