The village of Balloch is at the beginning of Loch Lomond and with its easy access to local transport, it is great for those who like to shop! Glasgow is only 40 minutes by train, and the Vale of Leven also has good opportunities to buy gifts and take in the local sights. The train comes from Glasgow to Balloch, where regular cruises start from Luss, Balloch and Tarbet. Scotland`s most popular area of countryside took another large step forward when the Lottery Funds announced its support of over £1.8million for a four year programme of works to bring Balloch Castle Country Park back to its former grandeur.
