In addition to the generic discretionary business grants the Council offers across most sectors, businesses operating in the tourism sector may be interested in the following -

This is a grant of up to £2000 which seeks to support innovative tourism activities and projects designed to increase visitor numbers and tourism revenue in the West Dunbartonshire area.  Projects must be innovative and be able to demonstrate collaborative working; the added value to the area and how related activity would be sustained.

LEADER Funding -

LEADER is a European funding programme for rural development, with funding awarded to Local Action Groups (LAGs) to take decisions on projects which are community driven and have a wide community benefit.

West Dunbartonshire is part of the Forth Valley and Lomond Local Action Group (FVL LAG) that will consider awarding LEADER funding to community led projects aiming to “improve the quality of life In Forth Valley and Lomond through revitalised communities and enhanced natural environments”.

In West Dunbartonshire, projects that reside in Balloch, Haldane and Gartocharn may be eligible to apply for LEADER funding through the Forth Valley and Lomond LAG area.  For more information on eligibility for LEADER funding and to access an initial enquiry form, visit www.fvl.org.uk
