Each year all Councils are required by law to collect and publish information about their performance. In 2005/06 there were 54 statutory performance indicators (SPI) collected by the councils across Scotland. These are checked and audited by Audit Scotland to ensure all Councils report correct and consistent data.
The document linked below shows how West Dunbartonshire's Department of Social Work Services is performing in comparison to the other 31 Scottish Councils, and also, against a group of demographically similar councils. Performance is rated by a 'Traffic Light' system which illustrates trend and ranking information.
