It is the aim of Home Care to assist vulnerable people, of all ages, to live independently within their own homes wherever possible. The staff are committed to the management and provision of a flexible, responsive, seamless, high quality home care service, taking full account of user and carer needs.
Services are provided after an assessment of need has taken place. The assessment will be undertaken by a member of the staff from Social Work, Housing or Health.

Access to Community Care Services in West Dunbartonshire (PDF 183KB)" which provides further information on the Assessment process.
While home care is delivered to a wide range of service user groups, priority will be given to those who are:
- At risk of being admitted to hospital or care;
- To aid early discharge from hospital;
- People who are terminally ill; and
- Those people with personal care needs.
Services Available
- Assist with personal tasks i.e. washing, dressing, toileting and personal hygiene, prompting medication;
- Assistance with meal/snack preparation;

Charging Policy
Free Personal Care will be provided to eligible persons aged 65 and over. There are some home care tasks which are eligible for charge.
