Chairman Report

  • Meg gave an update on the benches and shelter.  The benches will be installed as planned and Meg suggested donating the shelter to Edinbarnet Primary as the council wouldn’t let us install it in the area.

Secretary Report

Treasurer Report

  • It is imperative that the books are finalised for years 18/19 and 19/20 – Tricia to speak to accountant
    Finance have informed us that we need to differentiate spending in our accounts
  • Donations can’t come out of Admin Fund; motion can be made to use funds for this.  Monies can be used to promote the work of FCC

Council Update

  • Lawrence is struggling to get information from roads department, he will chase up.
  • There are a lot of capital investment coming up with the new Council Budget
  • Edinbarnet Primary School – paper going to education committee in December which unfortunately Lawrence was unable to attend.  He is waiting for further information
  • WDC have £20m to re-invest 

Events Update

  • The Faifley Foodshare is going from strength to strength.
  • There is a yearly fee of £1100 for a medium pack Foodshare 
  • There has been a freezer donated from the Scottish Government and Faifley HA donated a fridge.
  • There has been a donation form Knowes HA.
  • There has been a request that we change the name of Faifley Foodshare to Faifley Food Bank.  This was rejected unanimously.

Knowes Update

  • Sandra reported that they have received numerous complaints about off road bikes being ridden on the estate causes damage to grass in the area.
  • Public meeting about Faifley Rocks to be held shortly.

Brian McQuillan

  • Brian addressed the meeting and told of rules for Community Councils.
  • Our Quorum is 3 voting members.
  • There will be new Community Council workshops for members to be held in the evenings.
  • Brian also told us of Community Transport and how this would work.  The proposal has been put forward and is going to WDC in the Feb Meeting.  More info to come

Police Report

  • No update

Sport Update

  • WDC have taken over the Camp project and will continue holiday hunger programme which will help 50 children.

AOB

  • There will be a litter pick at Hardgate on 4th April from 10 am to 2pm.
