All tenants now have the opportunity to vote for their preferred rent option.

Free post voting cards will also be sent out to all tenants along with information on the options. There are also text and email options to help make it easier for those without internet access.
Voting will close on 20 January 2021.
Our rent setting consultation began with a virtual public meeting on zoom on 24/11/20. Peter Barry, Strategic Lead for Housing gave an update on how tenants rent money is spent and the impact COVID-19 has had on housing and tenants’ income . One significant impact the lockdown had was on limiting the type of repairs that could be carried out and this has meant that we have spent less on repairs than in previous years. This gives us a surplus in our Budget and there are numerous ways that can be dealt with and 3 rent options have been developed for tenants to consider.

The option most tenants vote for will be presented to a Council meeting on 3 March 2021 and Councillors will agree the rent level for the next financial year. All tenants will be written to confirming the agreed rent increase in relation to their rent charge.
