The annual rent setting consultation has begun and all tenants have an opportunity to influence this important decision.
Having as low a rent increase as possible is always an important issue and particularly this year as many tenants’ financial circumstances continue to be affected by the cost of living crisis.
Our service delivery costs are affected by inflation too and we don’t want to cut any services to tenants and want be able to invest in improvements to current properties and build much needed new properties.
Therefore there are 2 options available, a 4% increase and a 5% increase – more information on what each of these options includes can be found in the rent setting information leaflet.
We appreciate this is a busy time of year but have made voting as easy as possible.
The consultation will close on 19 January 2023 and Councillors will agree the rent increase on 8 February 2023. All tenants will be informed of the outcome and what it means for their rent charge.
