Notice of Proposal to Construct Speed Cushions / Traffic Calming Features

West Dunbartonshire Council as directed under Sections 36 and 37 (1) of the Road Humps (Scotland) Regulations 1998 and on behalf of Turnberry Homes hereby indicate the proposal to construct Speed Cushions on Castle Road, Dumbarton.

Speed cushions, with a maximum longitudinal length of 3.5m, 1.9m wide and a height of 75mm or thereby, are proposed to be constructed at the following locations:

  • On Castle Road 25m or thereby southwest of the extended southwest kerb line of Denny Road.
  • On Castle Road 93m or thereby southwest of the extended southwest kerb line of Denny Road.
  • On Castle Road 141m or thereby southwest of the extended southwest kerb line of Denny Road.
  • On Castle Road 179m or thereby southwest of the extended southwest kerb line of Denny Road.
  • On Castle Road 230m or thereby southwest of the extended southwest kerb line of Denny Road.
  • On Castle Road 275m or thereby southwest of the extended southwest kerb line of Denny Road.
  • On Castle Road 324m or thereby southwest of the extended southwest kerb line of Denny Road.

The main objective of the proposal is to reduce the speed of traffic on Castle Road with a view to improving general road safety.
